With over 20 years of teaching experience, Marla Morrison brings her belief in the value of music education to the forefront of the Academy’s mission. As director and owner, Mrs. Morrison has assembled a team of professional musicians who share her passion and enthusiasm for quality music education. Centrally located in North San Diego County, our school is convenient to all areas Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Carlsbad, and Oceanside. Due to our outstanding faculty and well known reputation for quality music education, students also come from Fallbrook, Bonsall, Poway, Encinitas, Del Mar, and Rancho Santa Fe. Our state of the art facilities includes comfortable and professional parent lounges with free Wi-Fi, music videos, and magazines.

Spacious studio rooms are equipped with top-of-the-line upright and baby grand pianos. All rooms are enhanced with updated technology for modern music lessons.

Fantastic performance opportunities and workshops

​

Students interact with peers by participating in performances and masterclasses with faculty and other visiting artists. Recitals, included in the tuition, display and elaborate each student’s achievements in their instrument of choice including piano, voice/singing, drums, ukulele and more. Our students have unique performance opportunities such as our summer and winter recitals.

​

For our students these recitals are FREE. Unlike many schools in North County, we do not charge recital participation fees and we have discounted tickets for parents. At Forte Academy there are NO hidden fees.

Forté Academy of the Arts is proud to offer our students the best instruments for modern and classical music lessons. For more than a century, the world’s most accomplished pianists have preferred to express their musical genius on pianos such as Yamaha and Kawai pianos. The list includes the giants in classical, jazz, and popular music.

Student Progression System

​

Students will be able to keep track of lesson notes in our new lesson planners available for purchase. The planners have a practice journal section that is perfect to leave notes for teachers also. Weekly teachers note the key points covered in your lesson as well as what to practice for the following week.

​

Suzuki Program

​

Our teachers blend a variety of teaching methods and styles including traditional and the Suzuki method, developed by Japanese violinist Shinichi Suzuki. Learn more about the Suzuki method from our director.

 

Forté Voices - Voice Lessons

​

Prepare your young vocalist to light up the stage with Forté Voice Lessons! Our private voice class is a unique and unparalleled experience for children ages 6 and up. Exploring a variety of genres, students will learn about basic melodic intervals, matching pitch, and learning dynamics. Students will engage the whole body to create a beautiful sound with an entertaining presentation for voice lessons applying what our instructors have been taught classically to the song of the student's choice.

Preschool Music – Early Childhood Music Classes

​

The unique Forté preschool curriculum developed by our very own faculty emphasizes a variety of genres including pop, contemporary, jazz and classical music. Live instrument demonstrations are integrated into classes along with lesson plans that align with well-known performances. Our pre-school music classes are truly a well ­rounded approach to understanding musical comparatives and enhance development of the whole child. There is a lot of movement in our children's music classes and the lessons are fun!

Forté Academy of the Arts San Diego offers music lessons in piano, guitar, voice/singing, drums, ukulele, and more six days a week to accommodate your busy schedule. Music lessons are billed monthly with no semester commitment.
